Hello! My name is Gillian Cohen and I'm a Masters student in Bilingual/Bicultural Education. Though my path has been circuitous, taking me from teaching ESL at a Chinatown community center in Boston to working with displaced communities in Colombia's Northern Conflict Zone, (with a number of adventures in between), all of my work over the past five years has been united by the common threads of education and social justice.
I'm currently volunteering at P.S. 62 in the South Bronx as a fourth grade bilingual literacy aide and I'm a mentor with Generation Citizen. I'm also an officer in the Association of Multilingual Education Scholars (AMES) at TC.
