Vail Mountain School seeks a Lower School Mandarin Teacher

Vail Mountain School seeks a Lower School Mandarin Teacher (full-time, exempt position) for the 2015-16 academic year.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: teaching lower school (grades K-5) Mandarin, developing lesson plans and curriculum mapping for a new Lower School Mandarin Program and participating in the extracurricular life of the school.  Candidates must possess the following: oral and written proficiency in Mandarin; ability to teach the pinyin system and simplified characters; experience teaching Mandarin to native English speakers; proficiency in designing effective lessons, teaching diverse learning styles and managing elementary age students; strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills.  Candidates must be excited about building and promoting the school’s growing Mandarin program.
