Spanish English Facilitator

| March 11, 2015

Hispanic Federation is looking for a dynamic bilingual Eng/Span facilitator who has a working knowledge of Early Childhood Education/Immigrant Parents and/or literacy. HF needs someone with a flexible schedule that could facilitate occasional workshops in the mornings and/or evenings after 5pm.

We are making connections with schools and community organizations across the city in an effort to help empower families of young children through sharing best practices for literacy skills. Mainly we are talking to parents.  There is a pre-existing curriculum that could easily be learned but we are open to creative input.  We’d like an energetic facilitator who understands the need to narrow the literacy gap in children ages 0 -5. This person should also be aware of the barriers that newly arrived immigrant parents face in addition to the barriers of English speaking parents who have little formal education. This curriculum includes activities and requires that the facilitator engage parents in a meaningful crafting project using minimal resources.  Hence, those with an arts and crafts background are a plus! There is good hourly pay included.

Any good candidates should email their resume and cover letter to me at cramos@hispanicfederation.org
