Practice Makes Perfect (PMP): Paid Summer Teaching Opportunity in NYC
PMP’s five-week program uses an innovative near-peer mentorship model that pairs students in grades K-8 with high-achieving role models from the same community. Our competitive fellowship places college students with an interest in education and a passion for narrowing the achievement gap in front of these classrooms in the schools that need them the most. Teaching Fellows will undergo comprehensive training that prepares them for the rewarding responsibility of leading a classroom and will receive one-on-one support from a NYC-certified teacher throughout the summer. Our Teaching Fellows are instrumental in combating the summer learning loss and narrowing the achievement gap in NYC. This is a full-time, paid position.
Emily Becker, along with Meiling Jabbaar will also be at a few upcoming career events at Barnard and Columbia Teacher’s College –Barnard Career fair on 1/20, and Teacher’s College Employer Exhibition on 2/7. If any students are interested in speaking with us in person to learn more about this opportunity please feel free to come out to these events.
