Responsibilities
The Content Creation Specialist will be responsible to lead and manage end to end content creation for components of a high profile in-house project. The primary responsibilities of the Content Creation Specialist will include finding and contracting vendors to write and develop content, briefing and providing appropriate support and ensuring they work to agreed costs and schedules. This is a benefit eligible term of project position lasting approximately 12-18 months.
    • Contract writers and editorial vendors for assigned components using standard vendor agreements
    • Provide support to editorial vendors in following briefs and in the use of content creation tools
    • Contract for copyediting and content reviews at appropriate stages
    • Review quality of all contracted work; provide feedback to editorial vendors on any recurring issues related to content creation
    • Assist Content Creation Manager in keeping content creation briefing documents updated throughout the content creation process and consistently communicate changes to writers and editors
    • Review and understand the approved instructional design, syllabus, course configuration, content map, budget, and schedule
    • Develop or contract development of prototypes and comprehensive writing briefs
    • Stay up to date with trends in second language acquisition pedagogy and assessment; stay up to date in ELT market needs and trends

    Qualifications

    • University/College degree in linguistics, foreign language, or related field, or qualification in teaching English as a second/foreign language (Certification or diploma in TEFL or TESOL)
    • 3 – 5 years teaching and/or editorial experience in ELT or language learning centers
    • Experience in managing editorial vendors
    • Experience using content management systems and digital authoring tools, preferred
    • Ability to navigate a complex and highly matrixed organization effectively
    • Possesses sound business acumen; remains pragmatic, calm under pressure; results-focused

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills, are a must!

    We are currently recruiting for (2) Associate Content Creation Specialist for a four month term to project assignment.

    Responsibilities

    • Understand and implement established brief; record agreed changes and keep brief up to date
    • Establish and adhere to a writing and development schedule with the writers
    • Prepare book maps as necessary
    • Work with editorial vendors to ensure content is delivered on schedule and to specifications
    • Support vendors in using content creation tools and meeting manuscript preparation standards
    • Review content for quality and structure prior to digital or print production
    • Review page passes of print product or alpha and beta passes of digital product
    • Select and prepare scripts and assets for all phases of content creation

    Qualifications

    • B.A. degree in ELT, language arts, foreign language or related field preferred
    • Teaching experience in TESOL a plus.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
    • Willingness to learn new processes and procedures
    • Understanding of the development editing process
    • Familiarity with digital publishing processes and workflows
    • Ability to give clear, timely, diplomatic and useful feedback and instructions to the writer
    • Ability to work as a team with Product Managers, Project Editors, Designers, and Marketing staff
    • Understanding of design principles: ability to combine solid pedagogy with attractive design; ability to envision copy on pages and screens. Ability to brief and advise writers on the use of templates as required
    • Ability to assess and adapt existing content to fit digital delivery
    • Experience with assessment products a plus
