Head Teacher for non-profit dual language preschool on the Upper West Side.

This position is for Head Teacher in a dual language preschool classroom. Classes are taught 90% of the time in Spanish. The Head Teacher will prepare an appropriate learning environment, plan and implement high-quality education experiences, develop activities to enrich language skills, assess children’s progress, document each child’s development through written student reports, meet and communicate regularly with parents, and collaborate with your teaching team including Assistant Teachers and the Educational Director to generate, enact, document, and reflect upon learning in thematic units of study.

Candidates will have:

  • Spanish/English Fluency—excellent oral and written fluency in both Spanish and English
  • Bachelors degree, Masters degree preferred
  • NYS license in early childhood (Birth-2nd Grade)
  • Extensive experience with early childhood education

Work hours are 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily with additional evening hours occasionally for special events.

Compensation is $43,000+, with additional for optional summer program (June and July).
