French and Spanish Dual Language Program Teachers Needed

PS 133 is looking for teachers for both French and Spanish Dual Language Programs.


Due to the high volume of  submissions, we will not consider applications that don’t follow the requirements below.

  • New York State Certification  in Childhood Education Grades K-6 with a Bilingual Extension (1-6)

or at minimum

  • New York State Certification with French or Spanish fluency. (NYSED requires 12 credits in coursework and an additional exam for bilingual extensions)
  • All candidates must have a base certification and their language ability assessed both orally and written in both English and French.

All candidates MUST have:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of satisfactory service as a teacher in the New York City Public Schools.
  • American citizenship (or permanent residency).
  • Oral and written fluency in French or Spanish and English.

Selection Criteria:      

  • Demonstrated written and oral fluency in French or Spanish and English.
  • Demonstrated success in incorporating hands-on and cooperative learning activities
  • Knowledge and application of best practices in instructional strategies and techniques
  • Demonstrated success in working collaboratively with colleagues and parents/caregivers

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily instruction in French or Spanish and English across all content areas aligned to the New York State Learning Standards and Common Core Learning Standards
  • Engage students in meaningful inquiry-based lessons and activities
  • Assess students’ ongoing performance and provide intervention as needed
  • Confer and report performance of students to their families and administration
  • Participate in ongoing Professional Development
  • Maintain student progress reports

Hours: 8:20am-3:10pm
