La Academia is seeking high-energy, visionary, and dynamic educators to join our staff of a new Wilmington, Delaware based Charter Elementary School that will use Expeditionary Learning (EL), a nationally recognized education model, to drive the instruction in a dual-language setting. The first of its kind in Delaware, the school will use EL’s project based approach to learning while teaching all students in both English and Spanish. The ideal applicant believes that all students are capable of high academic achievement regardless of socioeconomic status and are open to challenging themselves in an innovative learning environment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate and monitor each student’s learning plan
-Provide direct instruction and academic support to support integrated expeditions
-Conduct long and short-term planning to address the individual needs of students
-Develop lesson plans that ensure the attainment of state learning standards and the additional specific grade-by-grade learning standards set forth in the charter
-Co-plan and co-teach with other teachers to reinforce student knowledge
-Prepare students adequately for all required assessments and exhibitions
-Evaluate students’ progress and prepare student achievement reports for parents as required
-Provide an inviting, exciting, innovative, learning environment
-Engage in effective and appropriate classroom management
-Work collaboratively with other staff
-Maintain professional competence through participation in professional development activities
-Attend meetings and other activities, as determined by the school leader

Eligibility
-Current Delaware License eligible
-Delaware Elementary K-6 or Early Childhood Certification
-Dual Special Education Certification Preferred [but not a disqualifier]
