| October 21, 2015

To whom it may concern:

I am writing to share a new internship opportunity offered by Lenox Hill Neighborhood House. I am a 2015 TC grad and would be grateful if you could pass the following along to students in your program. Thank you!

The Center at Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, a senior center serving older adults on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, seeks a bilingual (English/Mandarin) intern to support programs in education, arts/culture, and social services for our large Chinese-speaking population, many of whom have recently immigrated to the United States. The primary duties of this internship will include:

-Translating forms, flyers and other written information

-Leading topical discussion groups in Mandarin

-Assisting staff in the administration of programs and services, including word-of-mouth promotion, sign-up, and day-of translation

-Acting as a liaison between Chinese and English-speaking members at Advisory Council General Membership meetings

-Attending cultural programs and sites around the city with members

-Identifying and compiling a guide to services of interest and relevance to our Chinese immigrant population

-Contributing ideas and energy towards our goal of creating a more inclusive center, imagining and implementing new programs and initiatives!

This is an unpaid internship. The internship requires 15 hours of service per week, including some weekend hours. Applicants should submit a resume and letter of interest to Rebeka Burns at by November 8.
