Seeking fantastic in-home tutor for the 2014-2015 school year!   We are seeking warm, caring tutor with excellent ENGLISH-CHINESE expertise and a structured approach to help a 5th grade girl reach her academic goals.   We are especially in need of Reading and Writing Specialists, as well as Social Studies and Science tutors who enjoy sharing their understanding of complex subjects with others!

This is a part-time opportunity; tutoring hours occur between 3:30 and 6:00pm Mon-Thur, although other times and weekends are sometimes requested. Our average tutor works 2-4 hours a week.  $50-$100/hour depending on experience.

Opportunities and Responsibilities:

·         The main duty of the ESL tutor is basically teaching all the English language skills that will enable student to effectively communicate in English.

·         Teaching English grammar, writing, reading, speaking, and listening skills. It may also include teaching pronunciation and accent reduction.

·         Homework prep,  test review and additional guided subject instruction and practice

·         Study and organizational skills

·         Communication with parents


·         College graduates and upper level college students

·         Prior tutoring or teaching/coaching experience

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills

·         Demonstrated track record of professionalism and dependability

·         Availability for the 2014-2015 school year

·         Access to reliable transportation

·         Willing to travel to student’s home for 1 hour sessions

·         Pass a criminal background check
