Bilingual Education Specialist

The National Hemophilia Foundation is dedicated to finding better treatments and cures for inheritable bleeding disorders and to preventing the complications of these disorders through education, advocacy and research. Established in 1948, we are based in New York City with chapters throughout the country. NHF’s programs and initiatives are made possible through the generosity of individuals, corporations and foundations as well as through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

NHF Is now looking for Bilingual Education Specialist to join our team. The Bilingual Education Specialist will be responsible to provide support and technical assistance to NHF member chapters and associations in education programs and in capacity building to support such programs. This position will also coordinate various education initiatives, with an emphasis on NHF’s women’s initiative and VWD programs, NHF’s Latino Initiative, Steps for Living. Additional duties will also include managing fulfillment of all reporting requirements of the CDC Cooperative Agreement and translating with proficiency English literature into Spanish for Events, Spanish Website, and information materials as requested.

To qualify for this unique opportunity, our ideal candidate should have the following skills and education:

  • Bilingual Spanish Required (speak, read, write)
  • Bachelor degree in related health with two to three years of experience in health promotion and risk prevention programs.
  • Demonstrated project management, program development and outcome assessment skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and understanding of current issues in public health.
  • Self-motivated, critical thinker with keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work with and influence diverse groups of people
  • Ability to travel domestically and speak in public is required
